After serving for 13 years at Shippensburg University, Dr. Fowler will be retiring in December 2018.

Jerry marks this year as his 47th in serving public schools, thirty-four at the Pk-12 level and thirteen years in higher education. In addition to his current position as an Associate Professor of Educational leadership, Jerry has held the title of Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Reading Supervisor, Elementary Principal and as a Classroom Teacher K-6.  During his career he has been honored with numerous awards  and was recognized by the Carlisle Area School District with  the dedication of an education center in his name.  While serving as superintendent, Carlisle was also recognized by Money Magazine as one of the Top 100 School Districts in the country where housing was affordable and families could get a high quality education for their children regardless of income levels. As an associate professor at Shippensburg University Jerry was instrumental in the development of the partnership doctoral program with Millersville University.  This was the first doctoral program in the history of the university.
