The Urban Leadership Residency Program launched its first weekend seminar Saturday, March 18th at the Dixon Center in Harrisburg.

The Harrisburg Cohort, consisting of selected participants from Harrisburg, Steelton-Highspire, and York City School Districts, returned to the Dixon Center on Sunday, March 19th; the Reading Cohort met at Tyson-Schoener Elementary in Reading.  The next weekend seminar is scheduled for April 22nd and 23rd at the Harrisburg and Reading locations.

The program is offered through the Department of Educational Leadership in Shippensburg’s College of Education and Human Service. Dr. Jerry Fowler, professor of educational leadership is the grant director. Dr. Phillip Diller, professor of educational leadership, and Dr. Jennifer Pyle, professor of early childhood education, are associate directors.  The program is funded by a federal grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education under the Eligible Partnership Grant Program.
